ACC Section Lottery for Elizabeth Parker 2020

Hello Section Chairs and Reps,

The lottery for the Elizabeth Parker Hut at Lake O’Hara for summer 2020 is fast approaching, and we have made some changes for the 2020 season to help the ACC sections get into the facility. 

Over the years more sections have entered the advance lottery, and only the first three sections chosen, were offered their spaces. We understand the need to offer appealing section trips, and The ACC’s commitment is to help sections hold regular trips for their members. We have decided, on a trial basis to offer every interested ACC section, spaces for Elizabeth Parker, and then hold a public lottery for the remaining spaces (the format of the public lottery may change depending on the remaining number of spaces, and based on the interest of our section bookings).

2020 Section Lottery Rules – Elizabeth Parker Hut:

Every ACC section may enter once and must enter by Midnight on Sunday, September 16th. No exceptions to this deadline will be permitted.
The lottery will be then be held on Monday, September 17th, each section that enters will be chosen at random, and will be contacted in that order.
Lottery applicants will be contacted  and will be given the opportunity to make their booking based on the availability of the hut. If there are no dates available that your section should wish to book, we will proceed to the next section.

All trips must be listed on the sections trip website as a section trip, everyone on the trip must be a member of the Alpine Club.
A 20% non-refundable deposit will be required once the reservation is made (credit card or treasurers cheque).

Within three full calendar days a 50% cancellation fee is charged, and on the day the cancellation fee is 100%. This applies to both entire cancellations, as well as partial cancellations to avoid having our sections simply hold spots until the last minute.

Section entries must be emailed to rshears@alpineclubofcanada.ca by Sunday, September 15th, 2019

Dates that will be made available to book, through the lottery are as follows:
June 19th, 2020  through to October 4th, 2020
Dates already reserved for ACC Adventures and unavailable for section bookings are as follows:
August 12th – 14th, 2020 (9 spaces)
September 7th – 10th, 2020 (24 spaces).

Please remember that the hut capacity is 24 (We recommend sections take all 24 spaces, otherwise you will be sharing the spaces with other groups. This however is NOT a requirement for making a section booking)

2020 Elizabeth Parker Hut Rates: (these fees are mandatory for ALL section participants including trip leaders)
$35 per person for hut fees
$14.70 per adult for the Lake O’Hara bus (fee set, and bus operated by Parks Canada)
$9.80 per person oer night for Parks Canada overnight Wilderness Passes (fee set by Parks Canada and collected by the ACC on their behalf)$10.00 one time booking fee for the entire reservation
