Escalade de Glace Montagne d’Argent 15 Fév.
Sortie originalement organisée pour la section Ottawa, mais une seule inscription a ce jour. Je l’ouvre donc a la section Outaouais aussi.
L’intention est d’être la-bas pour 8h30am et quitter a 17hrs.
Les participants doivent savoir assurer en moulinette avec des gants, être a jour pour la signature de la décharge et leur ”membership” puis posseder l’équipment essentiel (casque, harnais, ATC, bottes, crampons, piolets).

This trip is open to all levels providing:
1. You are in good standing with the ACC – your membership and ACC waivers are up to date.
2. You can Top Rope belay with winter gloves/mitts.
3. You Have basic ice climbing gear (harness, belay device, ice tools, boots, crampons, helmet).
Personal gear required for this trip:
a. Harness, belay device, ice tools, boots, crampons, helmet.
b. Lunch (recommend hot drink in thermos).
c. Appropriate clothing to spend the day outside.
d. Headlamp.
e. Protective eyewear (optional but highly recommended).
f. Snowshoes and poles (poles optional) for going out to the Lake crag.
Club gear (provided):
1. Ropes and anchor gear
2. First aid kit.
Driving time to Montagne d’Argent from Ottawa is around 1h45-2hrs.
We will be starting the day on Paradis Artificiel before the local climbing schools’ climbing classes start (10min hike from registration office) and then we’ll move to the Lake crag which takes about 20 minutes to get to. The trail may not be packed so bring snowshoes just in case. If we don’t need them we can stash them by the registration office and pick them up at the end of the day.
Moderate fitness level required.
Timings:
8:30am: meetup at Montagne d’Argent.
5pm: latest departure time from Lake crag.
